Infrastructure

The Turkish infrastructure sector attracts more and more investors every day, focusing on long-term business opportunities.

The national and local authorities in Turkey have been implementing numerous infrastructure projects through Public and Private Partnership (PPP) and they are also keen to realize further infrastructure projects in education, energy, defense, health, transportation and other public services. Similarly, infrastructure opportunities are also present in Turkey’s privatization program. While Turkey’s privatization efforts totaled USD 44 billion in the last eight years, there are still several more areas to be privatized, such as infrastructure and energy generation which is partly privatized. Considering Turkey’s growing demand for energy which will require more than USD 100 billion worth of investment in the next decade, there are numerous investment opportunities for energy companies.

The infrastructure sector in Turkey has been attracting considerable foreign direct investment (FDI) in recent years.

The government’s ambitious vision for 2023, the centennial foundation of the Republic, envisages grandiose targets for infrastructure. The overall target is to make Turkey one of the top 10 economies in the world, which will naturally require immense investments in infrastructure, in areas such as building new ports, bridges, airports, roads, railways, high-speed railways, hospitals, etc.
