Eight Turkish banks among the world’s most valuable
Zaman - With profits reaching TRY 20 billion (approx. USD 11.3 billion) Turkish banks had a very successful 2011, in contrast to their peers in Europe deeply affected by the Eurozone financial crisis.
The London-based consultancy group Brand Finance listed 8 Turkish banks in its annual review of the top banking brands in the world, with Akbank being the most valuable bank with its brand value of USD 1.58 billion. The bank ranked 96th on the top 100 list, while Isbank, Garanti Bank, Yapi Kredi Bank, Halkbank, VakifBank, Finansbank and DenizBank managed to enter the top 500 with a total brand value of USD 7.9 billion.
