Hurriyet - Germany’s Bosch Group, with operations in automotive, household appliances and energy industries, plans to invest EUR 400 million in Turkey over the next two years.

The company reached a turnover of EUR 1.7 billion in Turkey in 2010, mostly from domestic sales and exports originating from Turkey, according to Bosch Board Member Rudolf Colm, responsible for operations in Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa.

“We plan to invest an additional EUR 400 million in Turkey until 2013 and create jobs for some 1,000 people,” said Colm, adding that Bosch’s future plans in Turkey involve projects in solar energy. Turkey is considered to be one of the key countries in solar energy with long insulation periods similar to Spain, Italy and North African countries.

“Turkey offers tremendous opportunities in solar energy that Bosch cannot afford to ignore,” said Colm.
