The MAN Group, which started its production activities 252 years ago with its iron works founded in Oberhausen, Germany in 1758, is now one of the largest companies in the world operating in various sectors ranging from industrial services, machine production and diesel engine production to commercial vehicle production. In operation for over two centuries, MAN is one of the largest companies in Europe today, producing investment goods with a turnover of roughly EUR 14.4 billion.
The flagship of such a large and profitable group is MAN Ticari Araclar (MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG), which produces commercial vehicles, primarily buses and trucks. MAN Ticari Araclar holds the title of “the biggest company” of the conglomerate within the MAN Group, with a turnover of EUR 10.6 billion in 2008. MAN Ticari Araclar, which has production facilities in Turkey, Poland, Mexico and India, as well as in Germany, has already exceeded its sales objective of 100,000 cars designated for the year 2010.
Turkey is one of MAN Ticari Araclar’s most important production bases. Continuing its activities since 1966, MAN Turkey exports the buses it produces to 41 countries. MAN Turkey, which is the production center of MAN-branded coaches, registered a turnover of EUR 277.5 million in 2008.
MAN Kamyon ve Otobus Ticaret A.S. carries out sales and after-sales services for MAN-branded buses and trucks, both at home and abroad. The company’s success rate in terms of its selling and marketing activities is increasing with its 14 branch offices across the country and its headquarters and sales office in Istanbul. In accordance with its growing market share, increasing competition conditions and customer expectations, MAN Kamyon ve Otobus Ticaret A.S. works to offer the best after-sales services to its customers with its 30 service vehicles and plazas.
MAN Financial Services Tuketici Finansmani A.S. is the MAN Group’s other company in Turkey. MAN Financial Services, which was founded at the end of 2005 to provide finance for MAN and NEOPLAN vehicles, is making rapid progress in its efforts to become the leader of the quick and rational credit system. The total credit portfolio of MAN Financial Services Tuketici Finansmani A.S., which is the seventh finance company established by MAN AG after those founded in Germany, England, Spain, Italy, France and Austria, has already exceeded EUR 105 million.

1912 The Galata Bridge was built by MAN.
1966 The first production plant outside Germany was established in Istanbul.
1967 The first MAN-branded truck in Istanbul was rolled off the production line.
1981 MAN Turkey exported its vehicles for the first time.
