Toyota Motor Corporation is one of the world's leading automakers, and together with its subsidiaries, it produces a full range of models - from minivans to large trucks. During 2009, global sales of Toyota and Lexus brands, combined with those of Daihatsu and Hino, totaled 7.8 million units on retail basis. In addition to its own 12 plants and a number of manufacturing subsidiaries, as well as affiliates in Japan, Toyota has 53 manufacturing companies in a total of 27 countries and locations, excluding Japan, which produce Lexus and Toyota branded vehicles and components. Toyota employs around 320,800 people worldwide on a consolidated basis, and markets vehicles in more than 170 countries and locations.

Toyota believes a harmonious relationship with the environment, the global economy, local community and its stakeholders is the key to achieving long-term stable growth. For this very reason, Toyota continually invests aggressively in next generation technologies to develop automobiles that are greener, safer and more fun to drive.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey (Toyota Turkey) is one of Toyota's vehicle production bases in Europe. Located in the northwestern Anatolian province of Sakarya, Toyota Turkey manufactures Verso and Auris models. The majority of the plant’s production is exported to more than 40 countries, in particular, to Europe. Germany, France, Italy, the UK and Spain have become major export destinations for Toyota Turkey in recent years. Today, with its total annual production capacity, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey is one of the ten largest overseas manufacturing operations of Toyota, and is also one of the largest manufacturing companies in Turkey.

Dedicated to best quality production with the contribution of all its members, Toyota Turkey has continued to apply the Toyota Production System (TPS) to its manufacturing processes since the start of its operations.

Toyota Turkey registered a rapid growth with the start of its export activities in 2002. The company’s production and number of employees have multiplied in line with increasing investments. Today, Toyota Turkey has invested more than EUR 1 billion since its establishment, and currently has around 3,000 employees. 11 percent of the employees speak Japanese, while almost all office employees speak English.

Since 2002, Toyota Turkey’s accumulated exports have totaled USD 14.3 billion. The company produces more than one million units per annum, while 96 percent of its production is allocated for exports. Toyota Turkey has become one of the largest exporters in the Turkish automotive sector and other export-oriented industries in the country.

Turkey's geographical location with its young, disciplined and capable workforce, has made the country the right place for Toyota’s investments. Toyota is pleased to have invested in Turkey and will continue to produce and export high quality products.

Orhan Ozer, President and CEO of Toyota Turkey: “We achieved our targets through producing and exporting our high quality vehicles. We are gratified that we have fruitful years ahead of us to realize our mission, which is to contribute to the Turkish society. I would like to thank firstly our employees and suppliers, and all other parties for their contribution to our success. Toyota Turkey is very happy to contribute to Turkey through its production, exportation, investments and the employment opportunities it creates.”
