Turkey maintains investment attraction, says minister

Today’s Zaman - Foreign Trade Minister Kursad Tuzmen has said Turkey is still an attractive choice for foreign investors despite the economic troubles and political strains facing the country. Speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony in Tekirdag for German company Putzmeister's first plant in Turkey, the minister said foreign investors are choosing Turkey because of their confidence in its potential and stability. Putzmeister is Germany's leading producer of concrete boom pumps, mortar mixing and pumping machinery and industrial pumps. Tuzmen stated that looking at the overall performance of the global economy, one can easily observe that almost all economies are experiencing a slowdown in their growth rates. "Inflationary pressures are looming everywhere in the world while creating a backlash in global trade. Many people are expecting a decrease in capital inflows to emerging economies. However, despite all these negative developments, we are not too concerned about the future, and we have faith in ourselves," Tuzmen remarked.
