IMF says significant progress made with Turkey in some key areas

Today’s Zaman- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Monday that the fund had made some significant progress with Turkey in some key areas. An IMF mission headed by Ms. Rachel van Elkan visited Turkey between January 8-26 to continue discussions on a new IMF stand-by arrangement in support of the Turkish authorities' economic program. "In the coming weeks, a team from the IMF and the authorities will continue their dialogue with a view to finalizing the remaining issues pertaining, in particular, to the medium-term structural fiscal reform agenda" the fund statement said.
