European Union: Turkey is more resistant to economic shocks

Zaman – Turkish economy received good grades from European Union. Despite internal political problems and the global financial crisis, the economic section of the European Commission’s draft report on Turkey’s progress in 2008 contains positive evaluations regarding Turkish economy. In the report, which states that, in 2007 and 2008, macroeconomic stability has been maintained to a great extent, the following evaluation is included: "Although they occasionally give rise to particular uncertainties in the economy, the drifts in the financial markets and internal political developments have also demonstrated that the Turkish economy is more prepared to face economic shocks.”
