Invest News DetailToday's Zaman - The World Trade Organization (WTO) has predicted Turkey will continue its strong foreign trade performance this year. Turkey's foreign trade volume should continue to rise in new and existing markets in 2008 because of a rapid increasing trend ongoing since 2002, according to the WTO, due the country's increasingly competitive economic structure and the rise in the production of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The WTO also emphasized that Turkey's share in global trade was growing every year. The WTO said exports' share in Turkey's total foreign trade was increasing rapidly compared to imports and also pointed out that the share of high-technology products among all exports was growing. The organization also highlighted that Turkey was a brilliant example of implementation of WTO principles and that reforms in Turkey's foreign trade processes make the country more attractive.
