Turkey's leading technology retailer grows despite global financial crisis

Today's Zaman - Teknosa, Turkey's first technology retailer owned by the Turkish conglomerate Sabanci, continues to grow and create new employment opportunities despite the contraction in its sector. Teknosa recently opened its largest store in the Southeastern Turkish province of Gaziantep, bringing the number of Teknosa stores in the city to five. Teknosa is pleased with sales in Gaziantep, Retail Sales Director Bulent Gurcan told the Anatolia news agency. "This is our 224th store. We have opened nine stores around the country in 2009. We built facilities covering 70,000 square meters in 2008. Our target for the current year is to add 15,000 square meters to this, to raise our overall interior space for our stores to 85,000 square meters," he said.
