Unemployment figures announced by TurkStat on Wednesday for the month of March indicate that Turkey’s joblessness rate fell from 11.5 percent in February to 10.8 percent in March, an encouraging 2.9 percent recovery over the same month of 2010. The joblessness rate was 13.7 percent in March 2010. Turkey’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell further to 9.9 percent in March, from 10 percent in February and 10.5 percent in January. This is the first time the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has been in single digits since March 2007.
