Invest News DetailToday’s Zaman - Turkey's unemployment rate has continued to fall, with the level of unemployment in the country being registered at 9.2 percent in June 2011, according to data released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat) on Thursday. TurkStat said the unemployment rate fell to 9.2 percent in June, down from 10.5 percent in the same period of last year. According to TurkStat's data, the number of people unemployed in rural areas now stands at 2.53 million, while the number of those employed is registered at 24.90 million. Observers argue that stable growth in Turkey's economy will drive the country's jobless rate further down by the end of the year. Turkey registered the world's fastest economic growth with 11 percent in the first quarter over the same months in 2010.
