Turkish health tourism to be showcased at EMITT

Today’s Zaman - The first international “holiday and health summit” will bring together decision makers and trendsetters of the tourism and health sectors in Turkey as part of the East Mediterranean Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT) in February. EMITT 2009 is expected to be a milestone for health tourism in Turkey, bringing together producers of health, wellness, and fitness and beauty products with international tour operators who bring nearly 25 million visitors to Turkey each year. It's the first step in showcasing Turkey's health products in European travel agencies. EMITT has been one of Turkey's most successful fairs in terms of deals made and contracts signed during or after the fair. In 2008, EMITT brought together more than 50,000 decision makers, experts, businessmen and tourism executives. The summit is chaired by Dr. Yasar Bilgin, President of the German-Turkish Health Foundation, and supported by Professor Maria Böhmer, the German minister of state for integration. EMITT will be held February 12-15 at the TUYAP Exhibition Center in Istanbul.
