AA – Alpaslan Korkmaz, President of Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT) said on Tuesday that Türkiye hopes to maintain investments from Germany amidst the global economic crisis. German companies invested around EUR 1 billion in 2007, said Korkmaz at his agency's representative office in Cologne, Germany. He said Germany has high technology, particularly in renewable energy and went on to add, "German companies invested around EUR 1 billion in Türkiye in 2007 and amidst this global economic crisis we aim to keep the investment amount unchanged." Korkmaz underlined the fact that German investors are significant players in the Turkish economy as Türkiye, thanks to its geopolitical position, is a lucrative market for energy and the automotive industry.
