Investment and Finance Office Marks 20th Anniversary with Beijing Reception

Türkiye's investment ecosystem, strategic advantages, and long-term growth potential were presented to leading representatives of the Chinese business community at an exclusive reception held in Beijing to mark the 20th anniversary of the Investment and Finance Office.

Co-hosted by Investment and Finance Office and the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Beijing under the theme “Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence," the event brought together senior officials, business executives, and investors to discuss Türkiye's investment climate, economic outlook, and opportunities for deeper bilateral cooperation.

The reception featured remarks by Investment and Finance Office President A. Burak Dağlıoğlu, Ambassador of Türkiye to Beijing Selçuk Ünal, and Silk Road Fund Director Cai Xuejun.

In his address, Ambassador Ünal highlighted the significance of 2026 as the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and China, emphasizing the longstanding ties between the two countries. He noted that Türkiye and China are two ancient civilizations that once anchored the eastern and western ends of the historic Silk Road and continue to strengthen their cooperation across multiple sectors.

Investment and Finance Office President Dağlıoğlu highlighted the steady expansion of economic ties between Türkiye and China, noting that Chinese investments in Türkiye have surpassed USD 5 billion since 2002. He also emphasized that nearly 1,500 Chinese-capital companies and 12 liaison offices are currently operating successfully in Türkiye, reflecting the growing confidence of Chinese investors in the country. Beyond economic cooperation, Dağlıoğlu underlined the strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations, noting that the number of Chinese visitors to Türkiye reached 425,000 in 2025.

Meanwhile, Silk Road Fund Director Cai Xuejun also underscored Türkiye's strategic location and growing opportunities across infrastructure, manufacturing, new energy, logistics, green energy, and the digital economy. He noted that the Silk Road Fund invested in the Antalya–Alanya Motorway Project last year on the recommendation of the Investment and Finance Office. Describing it as a key infrastructure investment, Xuejun said the project is expected to strengthen regional connectivity and support tourism development.

During the reception, the Investment and Finance Office also signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with the Silk Road Fund and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, further reinforcing economic and investment ties between Türkiye and China.

The reception provided an opportunity to celebrate Investment and Finance Office's successful 20-year journey and its contributions to Türkiye's investment landscape, while further strengthening ties with the Chinese business community and reaffirming Türkiye's commitment to fostering long-term partnerships and attracting strategic investments from China.
