President Erdoğan Pledges Aid for Regional Welfare at G20 Leaders’ Summit

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered messages of regional peace and welfare at the G20 Leaders' Summit held on November 22 under the term presidency of Saudi Arabia.

Participating in the event via videoconference, President Erdoğan delivered a speech at the second session of the summit, where he discussed the COVID-19 outbreak, refugee problem, regional peace, and the eastern Mediterranean issue.

Emphasizing there are many people in need in war-torn countries, and people deprived of aid for COVID-19 for various reasons, Erdoğan said the Turkish government was ready to restore peace on a regional basis. “We firstly work to ensure our national security, the safety of life and property of our citizens, and then move on to the stability, tranquility, and domestic peace of our region and of places that are dear to our hearts," said the President.

Another issue mentioned by President Erdoğan was Türkiye's efforts to protect the ecosystem through electricity generation from domestic and renewable sources. “We generate 63 percent of our electricity from indigenous and renewable resources. Türkiye ranks 13th in the world and 7thin Europe in terms of installed solar energy capacity," he stated.
