Boeing willing to do more in Türkiye

AA- A top official of the US aerospace and defense company Boeing said Türkiye has always been a very important country for Boeing and that it is willing to grow in Türkiye. Gregory Pepin, President of Boeing-Türkiye, hosted a reception last week to mark the 10th anniversary of the Boeing office in Türkiye. Pepin said Boeing aircrafts have been in use in Türkiye for over 60 years. Türkiye bought its first plane from Boeing in 1945, Pepin recalled and added that Boeing has started support services to US military bases in Türkiye in 1965. Pepin stressed that relations between Türkiye and Boeing have grown stronger over the past 10 years since the establishment of the Boeing office in the Turkish capital of Ankara. He said 20 Turkish companies are manufacturing parts for Boeing. Boeing programs have been providing employment opportunities for more than 1,000 people in Türkiye, Pepin said, adding that Boeing aims to work together with Türkiye on commercial and military projects such as the "787 Dreamliner" and "Peace Eagle."
