Türkiye’s Akbank sign cooperation deal with China Development Bank

Dunya - Akbank, one of Türkiye’s leading banks, has signed a cooperation agreement with China’s prominent financial institution, China Development Bank. The agreement, signed by Akbank’s Director General Ziya Akkurt and Vice-Governor of China Development Bank Gao Jian, forms the basis of a long-term strategic partnership between the two lenders. The agreement entails reciprocal opening accounts of Turkish lira and Chinese yuan, affirming support for using the local currencies in trade between Türkiye and China. The deal also serves as a facilitating measure for entrepreneurs and businessmen of both countries in financing projects of infrastructure, trade and investments.
