Renault Trucks and Karsan join forces to manufacture trucks in Türkiye

Haber Turk - Renault Trucks and Türkiye's contract manufacturer in the field of commercial vehicles and trucks opened their joint production line in Türkiye on Saturday. Renault Trucks and Karsan, a Koc Holding company, invested EUR 25 million for the new production line at Karsan plant in the western Turkish province of Bursa. At a ceremony to mark the opening, Karsan Chairman Inan Kirac, said Renault Trucks picked Türkiye to invest in a tough time for global automotive industry. Kirac said the Turkish automotive industry could overcome problems relating to the global economic crisis in the shortest time. The initial decision to produce in Türkiye, the first plant outside France, dates back to July 2007 and production line began operations in September 2008, with the assembly of three models of Renault Trucks. In Bursa for the official inauguration ceremony, Stefano Chmielewski, President and CEO of Renault Trucks, delivered a speech and said the production quality in Bursa plant is very high. Chmielewski also stated that Karsan will manufacture 5,000 trucks for Renault per annum with the same quality as in the French plants.
