CarrefourSA believes in Türkiye's potential

AA - CarrefourSA, a joint venture between Türkiye’s Sabanci Holding and Carrefour, the top retailer in Europe and the second largest in the world, opened its 160th express store in Türkiye last Thursday. The retailer offers a wide variety of low cost, good quality products, General Manager Guillaume Deruyter told the attendees of the opening ceremony organized for the new store in the Mediterranean province of Mersin’s Tarsus district. The store is CarrefourSA’s second express store in Tarsus. In 2010, CarrefourSA plans to open 100 express stores and three hypermarkets, said Deruyter. “Through these investments, we will provide employment opportunities for 5,600 people”, he added. “We believe in Türkiye’s potential. Currently we have 7,600 employees. In 2012, we aim to double that figure.” The company opened 55 express stores and four large hypermarkets this year, and is planning “better and bigger things” for next year, according to Deruyter.
