ASPILSAN Commences Mass Production of Lithium-ion Battery Cell

ASPILSAN Energy, a subsidiary of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, has announced that it has started mass production of the lithium-ion rechargeable cell in its Kayseri production facilities.

Having the first cylindrical lithium-ion battery factory in Europe, ASPİLSAN Energy is projected to produce approximately 22 million batteries per year with a total capacity of 220 megawatt-hours.

ASPILSAN received incentives within the “Project-Based Incentive Support System" (PBIS) from the Turkish government, as unveiled in the Official Gazette dated August 6, 2021.

Introduced in 2016 and put into action in 2018, the PBIS Regime provided over USD 100 billion's worth of incentives for companies in strategic sectors. The regime offers customs duty, VAT, and corporate tax exemptions along with social security premiums, income tax withholding support, and energy support aids.
