Dunya - Karbogazi Ski Resort in the Tarsus district of the southern Anatolian province of Mersin has recently been under close watch by foreign investors, as the region is slated to become a winter sports center. A joint venture by Egyptian and German partners and a Scandinavian company are among the interested parties, according to the Mersin Tourism Platform’s President Numan Olcar. Olcar said foreign investors have been monitoring the snow depth of the area for more than a year, and added that the interested companies have already invested in various tourism projects all over the world and improved infrastructure. According to Olcar, the newly built roads are the other factor that made Karbogazi attractive as a winter sports center.
