Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the record, emphasizing that the achievement underscores the continued growth of the country's transportation ecosystem.
“Istanbul Airport served 289,732 passengers on August 9, once again recording the highest daily passenger count of all time in Türkiye and Europe," Uraloğlu stated. “With the robust transportation infrastructure we have established, we continue to reinforce Istanbul's central position in global aviation."
The record-breaking traffic reflects sustained high demand across international and domestic routes, highlighting Türkiye's role as the nexus of global transit, tourism, and logistics.
