Türkiye’s Installed Power Capacity Tops 100 GW Threshold

​​Türkiye's installed capacity in electricity has surpassed 100,000 megawatts (MW) reaching 100,334 MW as of the end of March 2022, announced the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Thus, Türkiye has become 14th in the world and 6th in Europe that crossed this level in installed power capacity.

Heralding the achievement, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, “With the diligent efforts of the public and private sectors, we have increased our installed power capacity more than three times in the last 20 years and investments totaling USD 95 billion were made in this field in due period.

While renewable resources constitute 54 percent of the total installed capacity in Türkiye as of the same date, it made up 86 percent of the electricity generation investments made in the last 4 years.
