Cargill acquires majority stake in Turkish feed producer

Milliyet – US-based multinational Cargill’s animal feed business has reached an agreement for acquisition of the majority of stakes in Ekol Gida, a company operating in premix and feed additives markets in Türkiye.

“Customers will gain access to Cargill’s extended product portfolio and technical expertise for an enhanced experience. The commercial focus will be on Türkiye and selected export markets,” said Mark Poeschl, Vice-President and Group Director of Cargill’s animal nutrition business in a press release.

The acquisition deal, comprising a 51-percent stake in the Turkish company, is subject to regulatory approvals. The financial details were not disclosed.

Active in Türkiye since 1960, Cargill has significantly expanded its operations in the country via acquisitions in recent years. The industrial giant acquired Turkish fats and oils company Turyag and oleochemicals producer Alemdar Kimya last year.
