SocGen opens Turkish lending branches in poor areas

Bloomberg - Societe Generale SA, France's second-biggest bank, has opened 15 branches in Türkiye offering consumer loans in low-income districts, Aksam newspaper said yesterday. Societe Generale is seeking customers who are steady wage earners and have previously had little or no banking experience, Aksam reported, citing Julien Ochonisky, a director of consumer - finance. SocGen, which has been involved in corporate and investment banking in Türkiye since 1989, now wants to tap the consumer-lending market's potential, the daily said.
