According to the data released by the Undersecretariat of Treasury, the share of foreign investors in the insurance sector stood at 56 percent on a premium basis, and at 51 percent on capital basis, as of September 30, 2008. As of the end of October 2008, the amount of foreign capital has reached USD 1,8 billion. During the period in question, shares of nine companies were transferred, while two new companies were established.
