DuPont launches innovation center in Türkiye

Sabah – US company DuPont has announced the opening an innovation center in Türkiye, joining the ranks of Huawei, Pfizer, Bosch, Siemens, Alcatel-Lucent, Microsoft, Ford and many other multinationals that rely on Türkiye’s highly-skilled labor force and engineering capabilities for product and services development. DuPont has other innovation centers in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Brazil, Mexico, the US, Russia and Switzerland.


The center in Istanbul will focus on science-powered innovation related to the food, construction, automotive and energy industries, which are all fields of growth with important investment opportunities presented by the rapidly growing Türkiye.


“Türkiye is a high-growth market for DuPont.”, the DuPont Protection Technologies President, Thomas Powell, said at the opening ceremony, citing the country’s growing population and increasing demand for food, energy and protection solutions.


Speaking at the launch ceremony, the President of the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT), Ilker Ayci, said that the importance of DuPont’s investment in innovation in Türkiye would be better understood in the near future as the region was undergoing a transformation process.

“The nature of this investment is in line with Türkiye’s policy of effectively utilizing science and technology to create business opportunities for the benefit of the society and economy..” Ayci noted.

Türkiye has an extensive investment incentives package in place specifically tailored for research, development and innovation-related activities including tax exemptions and cuts as well as financial support to lure R&D investments into the country.
