Ford’s Turkish designed minivan to make debut in LA Auto Show

Milliyet – US car maker Ford will add another Turkish-designed vehicle to its line-up available in its home country. Designed and engineered entirely in Türkiye by Ford Motor Company’s Turkish arm, Ford Otosan, the new Transit Connect will make its debut at this year’s LA Auto Show with its Wagon version.

Like its predecessor still being exported to the US from the company’s Turkish plant, the new Transit Connect Wagon will create a new vehicle class of its own with revolutionary features at a very competitive price. Built on a proven design, the new vehicle sports a large space combined with high fuel efficiency. “The complete design and engineering work of the new Transit Connect were undertaken in Ford Otosan’s R&D center in Türkiye. The 7-passenger Wagon version of this vehicle will hit the US market by the end of the next year.”, Haydar Yenigun, Director General of Ford Otosan said.

Ford Otosan’s Gebze Engineering Center is one of the top three R&D units of the company in Europe, employing over 1100 personnel. Exporting ‘Made in Türkiye’ LCVs and trucks to over 60 countries, the company recently added the Transit model van to its production line in its Turkish plant.
