Turkish Airlines awarded “Best Airline” for the third time

Hürriyet - Türkiye’s national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines (THY), has received yet another “Best Airline in Europe” award from the world’s largest airline and airport ranking authority, Skytrax.

Winning the title for the third consecutive year, THY’s continuing success is a reflection of the satisfaction of air travelers who chose to fly with the airline, according to the THY CEO, Temel Kotil, who received the award at 2013 Skytrax World Airline Awards ceremony, held at the Paris Air Show. THY was also voted for the second time the "Best Airline in Southern Europe" and received the "Best Business Class Catering" award with its 'Flying Chef' service for Business Class passengers on its long flights.

“Our thanks go to our Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who made this resounding success possible with his vision and policies…”, Kotil remarked at the awards ceremony, adding that being the number one airline company in Europe was of enormous significance as the continent represented one third of the 3 billion annual air travelers worldwide.

Basing its rankings on passenger input, Skytrax first recognized THY as the “Best Airline of Europe” in 2011. THY repeated its success last year, earning the "Best Airline in Southern Europe" and "Best Premium Economy Class Airline Seat" titles in addition to “Best Airline of Europe”.

A member of the Star Alliance, THY has the world’s 4th largest flight network that spans 229 destinations in 100 countries.
