In a recent meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Founding Committee of Seed Growing Association in Antalya, the participants decided to establish a Regional Seed-Growing Association with headquarters in Ankara. The Antalya meeting was attended by the Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TIKA), ECO, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) and representatives from private seed companies as well as agricultural ministries of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan. The Regional Seed-Growing Association in Ankara will help bring state-of-the-art technology to the regional countries and harmonize local laws on seed-growing with international ones.
