The G20-WAIPA Conference on Foreign Direct Investment is to be held at Conrad Hotel Istanbul, Türkiye, on April 27–28, 2015.
The Conference will bring together members of the umbrella organization for national and regional investment promotion agencies – the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) – and relevant government officials working on FDI policy and strategy. Moreover, G20-WAIPA FDI Conference Istanbul also expects to gather C-level executives from the private sector as well as experts from academia and civil society.
The overarching goal of the conference is to define areas for greater cooperation to facilitate cross-border investment for sustainable development. The conference will provide business leaders and investment promotion agencies (IPAs) the opportunity to share views on how changes in global markets and the emergence of global value chains affect the way in which IPAs can help firms, including SMEs.
The Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT) currently holds the Presidency of WAIPA.
