Chip maker Qualcomm interested in Türkiye’s Fatih Project

Haberturk – Türkiye’s ambitious high-tech education program, the Fatih Project, continues to garner interest among technology companies. US based chip maker Qualcomm, having recently opened its Türkiye office, is also interested in the USD 7.5 billion project that envisions the production of millions of tablet PCs for primary education students all over Türkiye.

“Türkiye is one of the fastest growing countries in the field of mobile technologies.” Qualcomm CEO Paul E. Jacobs told the audience at the Qualcomm Innovation event, held in Istanbul for the first time. “We are in contact with Türkiye’s Ministry of Education and other related government bodies.” Jacobs said about Qualcomm’s involvement in the Fatih Project, expressing Qualcomm’s willingness to take part in the project. Türkiye aims to procure the tablet PCs and other high-tech education equipment locally, through partnership between Turkish and foreign tech companies, in order to equip 15 million students with tablet PCs within the next four years.
