Türkiye has become ''investor country''

Turkish businessmen invested 778 million USD in foreign countries in 2006; while this figure is expected to exceed 3.5 billion USD this year. Among the countries that Turkish businessmen have invested the most in, Holland holds the first spot while Azerbaijan ranks second and Malta third. Turkish firms are currently operating in more than 90 countries, from Argentina and Sweden to the Russian Federation and South Africa. Turkish companies mainly enter new markets via mergers and acquisitions.
