Spain’s Tolsa invests in Türkiye

Spanish mineral producer Tolsa has inaugurated its first manufacturing plant in Türkiye. A leading name in the extraction and processing of special clays, Tolsa’s Turkish plant located in the Central Anatolian province of Eskisehir will manufacture consumer products for the pet market.

The TRY 25 million (Approx. USD 12.5 million) plant will have 100,000 tons of industrial production capacity per year.

Speaking at the opening ceremony Tolsa Türkiye General Manager, Gonzalo García, said this highlighted Türkiye’s potential in betonies and other kind of marble and metallic minerals.

“With our approach to bring our quality assurance, high standards for environment, food safety, occupational risk prevention and corporate social responsibility, we aim to add value to the Turkish market. We are glad to contribute Türkiye’s sustainable development in the field of producing final products of minerals with this investment. I would like to thank to the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT) for their efforts and contributions to this project since the beginning.,” he noted.

The Spanish company has also been operating a sepiolite mine in Ankara, Türkiye since last year and plans to invest TRY 50 million (Approx. USD 25 million) over the next few years to develop and expand its operations in the country.
