Earlybird VC Launches New Fund Focusing Emerging Europe Including Türkiye

Germany-based Earlybird Venture Capital launched a EUR 200 million successor fund - the Earlybird Digital East Fund (DEF) - focusing on emerging Europe countries stretching from the Baltics to Central and Eastern Europe, and Türkiye.

Discovering initiatives and taking part in the early stage investments, Earlybird is slated to keep this strategy unchanged in its new fund.

The fund has already invested in tapu.com, obilet.com, Apsiyon and Vivense in Türkiye. Peak Games, Trendyol, Yemeksepeti and GittiGidiyor are the four largest Turkish tech recipients of Earlybird investments.

Cem Sertoğlu, co-founder of DEF, returned to Türkiye from Silicon Valley in 2005, selling his SelectMinds venture. He partnered with Earlybird, Dan Lupu and Evren Üçok, who is the first angel investor of Peak Games and Trendyol.
