US company Ingersoll Rand exports to 95 countries from Turkish plant

Radikal - Industrial manufacturing company Ingersoll Rand (IR) has turned its security equipment production plant in Türkiye into its main supply and logistics base in the EMEA region. Acquired from Turkish security lock manufacturer ITO in 2001, the plant in Duzce has now become an important supply base for the Turkish market, as well as IR’s export operations. After shutting down similar plants in the UK and Italy, the company moved the production line of security products to Türkiye and now exports to 95 countries from its Duzce plant.

IR Türkiye Plant Director Cagatay Guler underlined the importance of the Duzce plant for IR’s global operations, saying “Regarding security products, Duzce plant is our largest supply and logistics base in the EMEA region. IR closed two of its similar plants in the UK and Italy, and now produces only in Duzce, employing 500 people.” Guler gave detailed reasons for IR’s preferred choice of Türkiye as its center of production: developing domestic market, proximity to developed markets and young labor force. “We have directly invested USD 70 million in machinery in our Duzce plant and plan to further invest USD 10 million this year”, added Guler .
