Investment Office Brings Together MENA VC Funds and Turkish Startups

​​​​On June 29, a joint webinar entitled “MENA VCs Eyeing Turkish Startups to Scale Business” was organized by the Investment Office and the Turkish Consulate General in Dubai. The event brought together representatives from MENA-based venture capital firms and Turkish startups. 

At the opening session of the webinar, Investment Office President Burak Dağlıoğlu and Consul General of Dubai İlker Kılıç delivered speeches.

During his speech, Dağlıoğlu emphasized that both the Turkish government and the Investment Office attach utmost importance to the technology sector and take all the necessary actions to support entrepreneurs and investors. Among these support actions, there are new regulations and updated incentives aimed at creating a more accessible and a well-performing investment atmosphere. 

Underlining the successful exits of Turkish tech startups such as Trendyol, Opsgenie, Iyzico, Insider, Foriba, Gram Games, Peak, PAYGURU, Natro, Fango, yolda.com, Dağlıoğlu said: “Türkiye’s technological capabilities, supported by customized incentives, have created an attractive ecosystem. In addition, Türkiye’s diversified economy, entrepreneurial business culture, as well as its young and tech savvy population have attracted significant investments from global players.”

At the second session of the webinar, senior executives of startups from MENA countries and Türkiye shared their experiences.
