Referans - The future of energy in the Black Sea-Caspian region will be the topic of discussion in the Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum 2010 to be held in Istanbul this September. The Atlantic Council, a think-tank based in the United States, is set to organize the Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum in Istanbul between September 29 and October 1.
The theme of the forum, first held in Romania in 2009, comprises global, political and economic environment of the Black Sea-Caspian region and expected developments in the region’s energy management and economic risks.
Bringing together leaders, academics and executives from surrounding countries, the two-day forum will be a platform to discuss issues in the Black Sea-Caspian region. The topics on the agenda include the strategic vision of the region, the impact of the crisis on the regional energy sector, the changes in energy and economics in Eurasia, nuclear energy, management risks, transparency and legislation issues in investments, as well as forming new investment models in the energy industry. Other issues that will be discussed include policies to encourage energy efficiency, climate change, natural gas exports to Western Europe through the south corridor, Türkiye’s role as an east-west energy transit route, as well as tax policies.
