New investments scheduled for Southeastern Anatolia Project

 

Dunya - The 24th GAP High Council, meeting under the chairmanship of Türkiye’s Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan, discussed the latest developments in line with the GAP Action Plan. The consortium, formed to build the Ilisu Dam and the accompanying hydroelectric plant, secured a commercial loan for the project. Also, the Silvan and Cetintepe Dam projects will go on tender this year. 

 

Under a new social and economic support program tailored for the region, over 2,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Diyarbakir have been granted TRY 8.6 million in credit interest support. The GAP region will receive TRY 1.5 billion in loans and around 8,000 new jobs according to the incentives granted in 2009.
