President Erdoğan Maintains Busy Schedule Following the Pandemic

​​During early July, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended multiple events in various sectors to bolster Türkiye’s economic activities and self-sufficiency during the post-COVID-19 period. 

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the first three irrigation sections in the Konya Plain Project on June 3, President Erdoğan emphasized how Türkiye benefited from its production potential in the agriculture sector during the outbreak. “The unquestionable supremacy of being self-sufficient in terms of agricultural production and food has been seen during the pandemic era. Türkiye, beyond meeting its own needs, is a country that has an export potential.”

On July 4, Erdoğan participated in the inauguration ceremony of Kartal Dr. Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital and highlighted the importance of Türkiye’s success in healthcare in contrast to the other developed countries in the face of a global and an unexpected turmoil. “Our exemplary fight against COVID-19 has opened a new window of opportunity for Türkiye in health tourism. We are determined to make Türkiye a healthcare hub.”

Attending the opening ceremony of newly-built hydroelectric power plants on July 5, President Erdoğan delivered remarks on the renewable energy production in Türkiye. Türkiye ranks 13th in the world and 6th in Europe with regard to renewable energy installed capacity, he said. At the same event, Erdoğan also announced that the first indigenous solar panel factory of Türkiye, which is expected to build up the power grid of the country, will have got operational before the end of August.
