Türkiye’s Bursa to be the home base of new Clio

Sabah – The updated Clio has found its new home, according to Renault’s Chief Operating Officer, Patrick Pélata, citing the French car maker’s decision to base the production line of its popular super-mini at its Turkish plant. “Bursa will remain the main production plant of the Clio 4 model, with a planned capacity of 280,000 units per year”, said Pélata, adding that Renault’s factory in Flins, France will supplement the production in Bursa based on the company’s new ZOE model’s sales figures.

Speaking at the 80th International Motor Show held in Geneva, Switzerland, Pélata said, “If our new electric-powered vehicle ZOE attains good sales figures, the Bursa plant will be the only site to produce the Clio 4” and added that the Flins plant may produce at least 100,000 Clio 4s if ZOE does not live up to expectations. The Clio 4 is expected to go into production in 2013.
