RWE to invest EUR 500 million in Denizli power plant

Turkiye - German power company RWE will construct a power plant worth EUR 500 million in the Aegean province of Denizli. The 775 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant will be operational by the end of 2012.

RWE’s Strategy Chairman Leonhard Birnbaum said RWE considers the Turkish market as one of its core growth areas. “As a partner of projects like the Nabucco pipeline, Türkiye serves as an important bridge between the energy reserves in the Caspian region and Western Europe”, said Birnbaum, adding that RWE sees the strategic importance of Türkiye and is eager to carry out more projects to participate in the growth opportunities the country offers.
