Global renewable energy company Siemens Gamesa reiterated its confidence in Türkiye's growth potential, CEO of the group Lars Bondo Krogsgaard said.
“SGRE (Siemens Renewable Energy Gamesa) believes in Türkiye's growth potential. SGRE can bring its experience, knowledge, state-of-the-art technologies and, of course, its investments to the country,” Krogsgaard said. The wind energy sector in Türkiye is the focus of domestic and foreign investors, he added.
“The pandemic outbreak highlighted the need to design sustainable economic development models in which renewable energy plays a central role. Therefore, this crisis could provide an opportunity for governments to fulfill their climate change mitigation commitments. Türkiye has the right fundamentals for wind energy with its growing economy, increasing population, energy demand, excellent wind energy resources, strong supply chain and supportive government,” Krogsgaard added.
Siemens Gamesa is the first and only wind turbine supplier in Türkiye investing in a wind turbine factory and a research and development (R&D) center, contributing substantially to the development of the wind power sector.
