Türkiye’s trade volume with UAE tops USD 9 billion

AA - Türkiye’s State Minister Zafer Caglayan said the trade volume between Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) currently stands at USD 9 billion.

"35 Turkish companies undertook 77 projects worth USD 6.2 billion in the UAE. The target of my visit was to communicate a message of the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Abu Dhabi's Emir Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan. The message reaffirmed that Turkish industrialists, entrepreneurs and exporters will continue to work with businessmen from Abu Dhabi and that the investments will continue", he said.

Caglayan also stated that the UAE's investments in Türkiye amounted to USD 5 billion, and noted that around 90 Turkish companies are active in the UAE. Turkish companies mainly operate in the areas of jewellery, food, furniture, construction as well as ready-to-wear.

Turkish minister said Al-Nahyan told him that USD 300 billion will be invested for UAE’s infrastructure over the next five years. "UAE expects Turkish contractors and businessmen to show more interest in projects and investments", said Caglayan.

Al-Nahyan also expressed readiness to assess investment opportunities in Türkiye noting that the UAE could cooperate with Türkiye in areas of energy, food, tourism, construction and agriculture.
