Haberturk - Türkiye’s METUTECH, operating under the Middle Eastern Technical University (METU-ODTÜ) has gathered a high-profile clientele for its innovative and high-tech output. Among the customers of the 253 technology companies under the park’s roof are aircraft producers Airbus and Boeing and engine producer Rolls-Royce.

The majority of the firms in METUTECH are engaged in research and development (R&D) activities related to IT, electronics, defense, telecommunications and biotechnology, according to METUTECH Deputy Director General, Ufuk Batum. Performance test systems for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Israel’s Wingate Institute are also among the export goods of METUTECH, says Batum.

Out of the park’s 253 firms, 56 percent operate in the field of IT, 22 percent in electronics, 6 percent in telecommunications, and 2 percent in medical research. The remaining 14 percent are engaged in a variety of R&D studies including materials science, aerospace, energy, automotive and environmental technologies.
