The target set in the fair was substantial: achieving USD 1 billion in health tourism market by 2010. During his visit in the fair, Ertugrul Gunay, the Turkish Minister of Tourism, said, “Our total inpatient bed availability is 15,000 - which is very low for a country like Türkiye. We will raise this figure to 50,000 in the coming years.”
