Türkiye’s exports up 7.3 percent in May

Dünya - Türkiye’s exports climbed 7.3 percent to reach USD 11.8 billion in May over a year earlier, data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) have revealed.

The country shipped over USD 59.8 billion worth of goods to foreign buyers in the first five months of 2012, corresponding to a 10.3 percent increase over the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, exports in the last 12 months hit USD 140 billion.

Türkiye hopes to see its exports reaching USD 150 billion by the year end. Exports in 2011 reached a record high in the country’s history, totaling USD 134.6 billion.
