Turkey adds 1.3 million jobs, downs unemployment rate

Sabah - Turkey’s rapidly growing economy and better-than-expected exports made the country’s employment rate take an upward trend in a time when most other countries experienced a contraction in their labor force.

The number of new jobs created in Turkey reached 1,317 million in 2010, while the number of employed people has risen to 22,594 million. According to data recently released, unemployment rate in the country also went down by 2.1 points to 11.9 percent in 2010 from 2009’s level of 14 percent.
