European Investment Bank to provide EUR 2.2 billion loan to Türkiye

TurkishPress.com - European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide a EUR 2.2 billion loan to Türkiye to be used by SMEs. A press release posted on EIB`s website announced that EIB group is ready to provide EUR 8.5 billion loan to new EU member states, pre-accession Western Balkan states and pre-accession Türkiye to be used by SMEs in these countries. According to the statement, new EU member states will receive EUR 4.4 billion Euro, pre-accession Western Balkan states EUR 1.9 billion and Türkiye EUR 2.2 billion of this fund. EIB loan comes as part of a joint action plan, launched by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank Group and World Bank Group to support the region’s banking sectors and facilitate lending to the real economy.
